How Do We Lead through Chaos?

Time to Lead

Simon Sinek asked someone who has done it before. Chris Fussell is president of the McChrystal Group, co-author of The NY Times bestselling book Team of Teams and a former US Navy SEAL. Simon called him up to ask how large teams can stay connected and how leaders can know what’s going on at the front lines to help them make better decisions.

The Opportunity Leaders Have Right Now

In this YouTube interview, Fussell discusses how the General McChrystal team developed better communication and leadership in Afghanistan – their challenge was fighting the Al-Qaeda network spread. Our challenge today is fighting the COVID-19 network spread.

Facing change and adapting is our challenge today. This challenge requires unprecedented communication to take advantage of what is different right now (the new normal) and to have your company come out the other side better and stronger.

Check out this short (10 minute) YouTube on their discussion and how to better lead through our crazy times today.

About Simon Sinek

As the New Zealand saying goes: “I have a lot of time (i.e. respect) for Simon Sinek.” He is an unshakable optimist who believes in a bright future and our ability to build it together. Described as “a visionary thinker with a rare intellect,” Simon teaches leaders and organizations how to inspire people.

Simon’s books include Start with Why and The Infinite Game (which I will discuss in my next post).

Wishing you and your families the best of health –

David
