Stuck? Which of these get In your way?

Lean Into Hard Problems

You don’t know what to do.
You don’t know how to do it.
You don’t have the authority or the resources to do it.
You’re afraid.

Seth Godin provides us with great advice from an older blog. “Once you acknowledge what’s getting in your way, it’s far easier to find the answer to help you get unstuck (or decide to focus on a different problem).” Be honest. Determine which of the four are getting in your way, then recharge your confidence level to move forward.

One technique to exhibit confidence is focusing on what you want to accomplish, not what is wrong or not going as planned. Yes you must deal with reality, but avoid “drama glue.”

Drama glue is characterized by continued focus on all that is not right to the extent that it becomes a drama–we talk, think and live the drama. This drama becomes glue that keeps you stuck.

Get rid of the drama glue by talking, thinking, and living what you want to be, what you want your people to be, and what you want your company to be. Strong confidence is the result.

Stuck is a state of mind.  Dissolve your drama glue!
